New Fears for for Bulli Emergency Post March 2011

  • 2011 – New NSW Liberal Health Minister has endorsed the closure of Bulli Hospital Emergency Department
  • 2011 – Question Without Notice in NSW Parliament – Ryan Park MP for Keira quizzes NSW Lib Health Minister Jillian Skinner on why she had not told the community of her plans to close Bulli Emergency Department before the March 2011 election – subsequent Question with Notice – 2011
  • 2011 – ISLHD Consumer Advisory Committee Meeting Minutes – Chairperson Melissa Markham raises concerns about of reports in local media on closure of Bulli Emergency Department – response not available to meeting & Melissa Markham asks that it be provided
  • 2012 – Illawarra & Shoalhaven Divisions of General Practice merge to form Illawarra Shoalhaven Medicare Local  & also commenced operating as Grand Pacific Health
  • 2012 – March – future of Bulli Emergency Department under a cloud revealed in Community Forum chaired by DR Denis King (ISLHD) – attended by Save BulliED Convenor Alison Fettell & Co-Convenor Anne Melano – more 
  • 2012– April – Thousands sign petition to upgrade Bulli Hospital – reminiscent of Save Bulli Hospital campaigns of 1980’s – Ryan Park Media Release April 17 2012 – I98FM May 11 2012 on Lee Evans position
  • 2012 – May – on future of Bulli Emergency, Lee Evans Sutherland Shire based Liberal Member for Heathcote states “not enough appropriate staff in the region for a full emergency department and the state government intends to set up a 12 hour a day Urgent Care Centre instead.”
