- Summary of Save Bulli ED’s findings presented to Lee Evans MP for Heathcote in July 2012
Our goals :
Keep Bulli Hospital Emergency Department Open
– 24x7x365 days per year
– triage at Bulli
– stabilisation at Bulli
– treat or transport
Of course we are being reasonable and are not after a fully resourced Trauma level facility for instance. However we know that there is only one ambulance based out of Bulli Ambulance Station to cover from Corrimal to Sea Cliff Bridge Clifton end. So we understand that when that ambulance is already deployed, then an alternative ambulance may need to be deployed out from Wollongong to a patient in the north. This can double the time for an ambulance to reach patients.
We, with our families & friends, have all benefitted from Bulli ED – in some cases lives of our friends & friends’ friends have been saved by timely action by medical staff at Bulli ED.
